Thuraya Aero is powered with the technology to create swift new solutions for a wide range of ISR, SAR, relief, BLOS and business aviation operations in an affordable manner. Its Aeronautical Satellite System is a superior communication platform that synchronizes perfectly with Thuraya’s existing L-band technology. Aero’s hardware and software elements were developed in partnership with trusted leaders in aviation solutions – namely SCOTTY, Cobham and SRT. For installation, Thuraya’s compact onboard satellite data unit (SDU) is simply connected to a hub, Wi-Fi transceiver or an onboard server. The antenna is then fixed to the aircraft tail or atop the fuselage. The system is significantly smaller and lighter than its market competition, offers high performance at lower airtime costs, and packs in a simple interface for the easy onboarding of multiple sensors and peripherals.
